Schoeps V4 U USM Set | Studio Vocal Mic with elastic suspension

The V4 U is the studio vocal microphone from Schoeps. It combines the outstanding technical features typical of Schoeps with a timeless, classic design. The appearance of the V4 U is based on the Schoeps microphone CM 51/3 from 1951, but it is a modern cardioid microphone: capsule, electronics as well as the mechanics are the result of an elaborate new development.

The capsule has an integrated 33 mm annular disc, which ensures that gradual bundling is achieved at high frequencies, similar to a large-diaphragm microphone. At the same time, the advantages of a small-diaphragm capsule are retained. Frequency response and polar diagram are exceptionally smooth. In addition, the internal capsule suspension attenuates structure-borne noise such as handling noise.

The internal electronics consist of a newly developed circuit design with a bridge output stage that is free of output capacitors and iron. As a result, the microphone has a low, particularly frequency-independent output impedance as well as especially high unbalance attenuation. It features high immunity to interference due to gapless shielding and has a modern EMC filter with very good characteristics in the output. The maximum sound pressure level is 144 dB SPL, which corresponds to an output level of 4.8 V.
