The UT FET47 microphone from United Studio Tech is a replica of the famous U47 from Neumann. A lot of emphasis was put on realism, fullness and the typical vintage sound. Thanks to custom-made Cinemag transformers, vintage polystyrene capacitors, NOS FETs and an HZ series capsule, the microphone was designed with uncompromising quality.

The microphone is built as a pressure gradient receiver with a FET and has a cardioid polar pattern. It has a pad switch, via which the Siganl can be attenuated by 10dB and a low cut filter, which is set optinal at 75Hz.

Microphone and capsule manufacturer Heiserman was involved and developed a new interpretation of the classic German capsule design of the K47. This resulted in an open and movable capsule with two matched backplates. The HZ Series matching process achieves far more accurate and consistent quality from capsule to capsule.

A powerful transformer from Cinemag meets the original’s specifications and is made of interleaved high nickel and steel plates. The humbucker design ensures clean and quiet operation in the process.
