Big sound, small footprint
Air Motion Transformer
The HEDD Air Motion Transformer is hand-built in Berlin using high quality components and puts HEDD’s expertise to work to deliver impeccable transient response and ultra-high frequency extension. As a result, the high frequencies remain transparent and linear and do not distort the natural sound reproduction in any way.
The Air Motion Transformer is an electromagnetic driver as it is based on the Lorentz force that moves the air in the individual folds. The resulting airflow is four times faster than the speed at which the individual folds move, which is a big advantage when it comes to reproducing music signals with fast transients.
Lineariser®
HEDD Lineariser is an optional feature that eliminates speaker-related time delays, improving transient response and imaging precision. Phase correction can be synchronised with HEDD’s BASS subwoofer range to compensate for group delays in a sat-sub system.
CoP: Closed or Ported
The closed or ported functionality is the result of extensive research on the HEDD Tower Mains system and allows all HEDD MK2 monitors to switch between two designs with just one switch and one plug.
When open, the monitors deliver a voluminous bass response with impressive sound extension. When the bass port is closed with the plug, a new level of bass precision, textural detail and low-end harmonics emerge.

Hauschka
Volker Bertelmann, also known by his composer name Hauschka, has lived with the piano since childhood. Since he started playing, he has been fascinated by the instrument’s diverse sound possibilities, by the possibilities that arise when you play it in an unconventional way. He loves to experiment with tunings, with unusual objects inserted inside his pianos or attached to the hammers. In Hauschka’s hands, a piano can sound like a drum kit, like a visit to a toy shop, like a garage full of interesting forgotten things.
As a composer, Bertelmann was involved in countless theatre, ensemble, TV and film productions, adding his always special and unique musical language. His collaborations range from working with Grammy Award-winning violinist Hilary Hahn and the Icelandic cult band Múm to scoring Garth Davis’ Lion, for which he won the AACTA Award. He was nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA.
Hauschka’s studios are equipped with a variety of HEDD monitors and the HEDDphone – tools that are essential to his daily life as an artist.
ACCESS TOOL
The HEDD Type MK2 & BASS Access Tool can be used to update the firmware of the Type MK2 monitors and BASS subwoofers. In addition, the tool allows access to the deactivation of the standby function.
