API 3124V | Discrete 4 Channel Preamp

Like the API 3124+, the 3124V is also a high-quality, compact 4-channel microphone preamplifier. It is equipped with the AP2516 input transformer and the proprietary output transformer found in all API microphone preamps and the entire API product line. In addition, the 3124V offers variable output level control and a switchable 3:1 output transformer. The device has internal 48-volt phantom power that is switchable for each channel, as well as -20dB pad switches that affect both the microphone and Hi-Z instrument inputs, both of which are located on the front panel.

The 3124V offers an amplification of up to 65 dB. In addition, the Hi-Z inputs on the front panel feed directly into the operational amplifiers, which allow a low input level such as a guitar or bass to be amplified without a matching transformer or direct box. These Hi-Z inputs can record levels of up to +20 dBu and are therefore perfect for keyboards and other high-level devices. The outputs of the microphone preamplifier are located on XLR plugs on the rear panel.
