The Vanguard VSSM is a professional, rugged shockmount specifically designed to reliably support and protect sensitive microphones from vibration. This shockmount is ideal for pencil condenser microphones, ribbon microphones and other microphones with a diameter of up to 30 mm and offers exceptional decoupling and stability.

The VSSM has been redesigned to improve the classic “tube” shockmounts for pencil condenser microphones. The extended inner diameter of 37.5 mm ensures that microphones with a diameter of up to 30 mm are securely supported. This includes many pencil condensers, ribbon microphones and medium diaphragm microphones. Another highlight is the 240° window in the housing, which allows easy access to pads, roll-offs or pattern switches without having to reposition the microphone.

Scope of delivery: VSSM Shockmount

Instead of the usual elastic straps that sag or tear over time, rubberized suspension rings from the aerospace industry are used. These rings are designed to be durable and hold the microphone securely in place while effectively dampening unwanted vibrations and rumble.

The VSSM is made of high-quality zinc alloy for the body and the rotary knob, which ensures durability. The swivel mechanism is made of impact-resistant ABS thermoplastic, which provides additional friction and prevents the microphone from slipping out of position over time. The thread and dual threading components (American 5/8″-24tpi and European 3/8″-16tpi) are made of brass to ensure maximum durability.

The VSSM is compatible with a wide range of microphones from brands such as Neumann, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, Rode, Peluso, Shure, and many more, which have a diameter of up to 30 mm and a length of at least 65 mm (see list below)
