The XKE instrument from the Pro Grade Classic series is the standard guitar and instrument cable from Van Damme. Behind the term “standard”, however, Van Damme Cable sets extremely high standards for its products. It is used in studios and on stage by artists such as Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Air Lyndhurst and Muse.
The Van Damme XKE Instrument Premium cable was developed by Van Damme in collaboration with Audiosteps for ambitious recording studio and live use.
It is ideal for cabling guitars, basses, other instruments and devices with instrument level.
The thermoplastic outer shield in combination with the tightly lapped oxygen-free and 43 percent silver-plated copper wire inner shield ensures excellent noise suppression and robustness. The cable is extremely flexible, lightweight and easy to wind up. Ideal for stage use with all instruments and other unbalanced output devices.
For an instrument cable in this price range, the Van Damme XKE Instrument offers a relatively low capacitance of 90 pF/m (core to screen). This means that the treble is slightly muted, does not get lost over longer distances and sounds extremely clear and detailed without being intrusive.
*Core to screen refers to the number of carrier signals in the cable, in this case two. This is an unbalanced mono cable. The first carrier signal is the information signal and the second is the ground/shielding.
