- Transient Designer
- 4 channels
- with Differential Envelope Technology
- in 19″ format
The Transient Designer has created a new breed of dynamic processors that can be used to shape the transient response of any audio signal.
Level-independent processing of dynamic signal characteristics is no problem thanks to SPL’s proprietary Differential Envelope Technology (DET). This technology uses the incoming signal to create a differential envelope. The envelope follower follows the natural course of the signal and achieves the optimum result for every moment.
The latest generation of the Transient Designer 4 has the same processing qualities as its predecessor, but with a new design and an even better feel due to the all-aluminium knobs. The Transient Designer 4 Mk2 offers four Transient Designer channels in one 19″ unit.
Inputs and outputs (balanced):
- Max. Input and output level: 21dBu
- Input impedance: 22kΩ
- Max. Output level: 21dBu
- Output impedance: 100Ω
- Common mode rejection (1kHz): 80dB
- Frequency response (-3 dB): 10Hz – 100kHz
- THD & N (0dBu, 10Hz – 22kHz): 0.021%.
- Noise (A-weighted): -90dBu
- Dynamic range: 111dB
Transient Designer
The module offers four channels (Neutrik XLR sockets, nominal level +6dB), each with two controls for sound processing of signals:
With the attack control, the transient phase can be raised or lowered by up to 15 dB. A positive attack increases the amplitude, while a negative attack reduces the amplitude in the transient phase.
To lengthen or shorten the decay phase of a signal, the signal can be changed by 24dB. A positive sustain lengthens the decay, while a negative sustain shortens the signal.
For processing stereo signals, channels 1+2 and 3+4 can be linked. The left channel becomes the master.
