The TDx from SPL Audio is a Transient Designer in 500 format with level-independent processing of signal characteristics.

Level-independent processing of dynamic signal characteristics is no problem thanks to SPL’s proprietary Differential Envelope Technology (DET). This technology uses the incoming signal to create a differential envelope. In doing so, the envelope follower aligns itself with the natural signal progression and achieves the optimal result for each moment.

Transient Designer

The module offers 4 controls for sound processing of signals: With the Attack control, the transient phase can be raised or lowered by up to 15dB. A positive attack increases the amplitude, while a negative attack reduces the amplitude in the transient phase. To lengthen or shorten the decay phase of a signal, the signal can be changed by 24dB. A positive sustain lengthens the decay, while a negative sustain shortens the signal. The Mix control allows a stepless crossfade of the original and processed signal. In order to optimally control subsequent devices, the output signal can be attenuated by up to 80dB via the Output control. In addition, the module has a bypass switch, for example, to compare the processed signal with the original.
