- Stereo Program Equalizer
- Psychoacoustic effects
- Vitalizer® technology with unmasking
- Matching curves of equal loudness
The Stereo Vitalizer MK2-T is based on sound processing concepts that take advantage of the findings of audiometry and scientific psychoacoustics. Audio productions thus sound livelier, more transparent and have more detail. It also increases perceived loudness. Interventions in the signal sound musical and natural, more deeply layered and more broadly distributed.
- Maximum input and output level: 22dBu
- Input impedance: 22kΩ
- Output impedance: 600Ω
- Common mode rejection (0dBu, 1kHz): 86dB
- Frequency response (-3dB): 10 Hz – 100 kHz
- THD + N (0dBu, 10 Hz – 22 kHz): 0.0019%.
- Noise (A-weighted): -99dB
- Dynamic range: 121dB
Program Equalizer
On the left side of the front panel are the five parameters of the patented Vitalizer core circuit. Here, the “Drive” pot controls the filter network. The “Sound” control adjusts the perceived timbre of the bass range from soft to hard. Further, a one knob compressor is built in with an LED to indicate gain reduction. The “Mid-Hi Tune” control sets the application frequency at which above frequencies are boosted and below frequencies are cut. Process” adjusts the intensity of “Mid-Hi Tune” and “Bass”.
On the right side there is a high and upper stage with coil filter (LC) and a corresponding potentiometer for the intensity. There is also a “Stereo Expander” built in here to widen the stereo base.
The stereo inputs and outputs of the Vitalizer are each equipped with two XLR sockets from Neutrik and two TRS sockets. The signal transmission is electronically balanced with a nominal level of +6 dB.
The key feature of Vitalizer technology is the unmasking of superimposed sound components. In this process, louder frequencies are minimally offset in time to make quieter signal components audible.
Since the human ear roughly corresponds to “equal loudness curves” and is not linear, the Vitalizer adapts the frequency spectrum to our hearing perception and thus improves the perceived loudness.
