Mercury is the first mastering DA converter to use SPL’s proprietary 120V technology. It has seven digital stereo input sources that can be synchronized. A display provides all necessary information about sample rate, source and synchronization. Thanks to an additional adjustable output, the converter can also be used as a monitor controller.

Mastering DA-Converter
The input section offers two coaxial (S/PDIF), two optical (Toslink), one USB, and two AES/EBU connections. The second AES input can also be used in dual-wire mode. All incoming signals (except USB input) can be synchronized to each other or to an external word clock.
The display shows the synchronization status and the current sample rate of the respective source. If “Source” is selected as sync source on the display, the embedded sync code of the incoming signal is used.
If the Sync button is pressed for more than two seconds, the converter switches to the 0dBfs display. Here you can choose between all reference levels in dBu. Available are +14, +15, +16, +17, +18, +20, +22 and +24 dBu.
Mercury has two balanced XLR stereo outputs. FIX OUT is an output that can be calibrated to all dBu reference levels. The second output (VAR OUT) outputs the same signal, but can be continuously adjusted via the OUTPUT knob.
