The STC-1S is a matched stereo pair of the STC-1 from Sontronics. These are two small-diaphragm condenser microphones that perfectly reproduce a stereo image with their gold-vaporized cardioid capsule. With the 3-stage filters (without, 75Hz and 150Hz) and pad switches (odB, -10dB, -20dB), they can be used universally.

Small diaphragm Capacitor
Whether recording a string quartet or an entire symphony, the STC-1S is the ideal microphone pair for A/B and X/Y techniques or other stereophonic recordings.
The overdrive-resistant level sensitivity makes it possible to pick up very loud sound sources, but the microphone also delivers precise recordings without distortion or artifacts with quieter signals.
If other directional characteristics are required, the pre-installed cardioid can also be converted into an omnidirectional or hypercardioid using the optional STC-OMNI or STC-HYPER capsules. However, it should be noted that the stereo pair is no longer considered matched in this case.
