The RN17 is the second member of the sE Rupert Neve microphone series after the RNR1 active ribbon microphone.
It is equipped with a new hand-wound transformer designed by Rupert Neve, making it the first small-diaphragm microphone in the world to feature a large-format, high-performance transformer.

Combined with the world’s smallest, gold-coated 17mm Mylar capsule, the RN17 delivers great results.
The capsule’s resolution and richness of detail are incredible.
It gets all the headroom out of Rupert Neve’s transformer.
The combination of the two components delivers exceptional clarity with a beautifully silky color.

The RN17 is supplied as standard with a cardioid capsule in a stylish wooden box.
This in turn is housed together with the specially developed spider in a top-of-the-range signature flight case.
The RN17 is also available as a stereo set with the appropriate equipment.
