- MiniCMIT with windbreak
- P12 as well as P48 can be used for power supply
- Low power consumption
- Set includes basket + fur
The CMIT 5 defined a new standard in shotgun microphones right from the start. Its bundling increases particularly evenly with frequency, resulting in an unusually balanced sound character. Furthermore, the level decreases laterally from the 0° axis particularly smoothly and independent of frequency. As a result, localized events can also be recorded here in a sound-neutral manner, and small errors in angling are forgiven. The CMIT 5 bundles more than you would expect from a microphone of its length. It is also used for music recordings, e.g. in opera, when a stronger directivity is required (e.g. in case of spatial confinement).
The similar MiniCMIT model offers the features of a CMIT 5 in a compact design and is recommended primarily for use with digital wireless transmitters.
The Pianissimo PIANI-1 is a highly effective windbreak. Its special design results in high acoustic transparency and thus extremely low sound coloration despite high attenuation of wind noise.
The wind basket protection set consists of:
- the Pianissimo draft shield with a two-axis joint
- a black fabric cover for indoor shooting and low wind
- a fur, optionally for medium (SP) or strong (LP) wind
- a lightweight XLR3 resolution
- an elastic microphone suspension
- Polycarbonate case

The MiniCMIT tube directional microphone offers the features of a CMIT 5 in a compact design. The frequency responses of MiniCMIT, CMIT 5 and SuperCMIT are identical. MiniCMIT and CMIT 5 also have similar analog electronics, so the microphones can be interchanged without changing the sound.
For these reasons, the MiniCMIT is recommended for use with digital transmitters such as the Audio Ltd. A10-TX:
- The MiniCMIT can be powered with P12, which is more power efficient.
- The MiniCMIT features the latest version of the Schoeps RFI Shield, which has been developed and tested specifically for this type of application.

Shooting in West Africa: “The MiniCMIT worked very reliably even in high humidity. Here is a photo from (the very humid) Elmina/ Ghana.”
