The W2393 by Roger Schult is a frequency processing module that combines a tilt and a Baxandall EQ in one module. It offers versatile possibilities for tonal manipulation of any audio signal with a few tone controls and is a powerful tool. In addition to a hard bypass for the entire module the Baxandall EQs can also be deactivated individually.
Like all Roger Schult devices, the W2393 TiltBaxxEQ module is handmade in Germany.
Tilt filter and Baxandall EQ
- Tilt: 500, 700 or 1100 Hz +/- 5 dB
- Bass band: 80 or 110 Hz +/- 12 dB
- Treble band: 2 or 5 kHz +/- 12 dB
- Bypass: for treble and bass band separately +
hard bypass for entire module - Frequency range: 20 Hz – 40 kHz (+/- 0.1 dB)
- in API 500 format
Tilt und Baxandall EQ in one device
A tilt determines the sound spectrum around a preselected center frequency by means of a Niveau Filter. This allows the distribution of lows and highs to be shifted simultaneously, but in opposite directions. This module has three frequencies for such sound processing. They are at 500, 700 and 1100 Hz and can be selected via a toggle switch. The distribution of lows and highs can be changed by up to 5 dB. To have small level differences before and after processing, a gain control with +/- 5 dB is built in.
The Baxandall EQs for lows and highs were equipped with flat track controls and allow a level change of +/- 12 dB per band. Two three-position toggle switches can be used to change the frequency ranges from 80 Hz to 110 Hz for the low band and from 2 kHz to 5 kHz for the high band. The center position of the toggle switches deactivates (bypasses) the respective filter and also serves to check the set filter effect. Due to the circuitry, the high and low bands influence each other by up to 4 dB, depending on the setting of the Baxandall controls.
