The IGS Tubecore 500 is a high-quality, fully balanced, transformer-balanced 500 series compressor that aims to achieve the classic Vari-Mu compression sound.
Its structure is based on the Vari-Mu concept and utilizes remote tube bias cutoff for compression.
This compressor is designed as a mono unit and is suitable for mono recording as well as a paired set for stereo applications.
A notable feature of the Tubecore 500 is its commitment to uncompromising audio quality.
All tubes are powered by 250V DC, and each unit is carefully crafted by hand using high quality, matched components such as 1% metal film resistors and 2.5% Wima capacitors.
Equipped with JJ tubes and individually calibrated, the Tubecore 500 strives to provide a unique and pristine sound experience.
The Tubecore 500’s design is versatile and suitable not only for harmonically rich drums and guitars, but also for vocals and bass instruments.
It integrates two IGS custom audio transformers that contribute to excellent performance.

Quality & Flexibility
There is an option to connect two mono modules to form a stereo pair, with the module with deeper compression settings or slower attack/release settings becoming the master module controlling the other TC500 module.
This allows the Tubecore 500 to function as an excellent mastering compressor.
It also offers the flexibility to select the input and output levels via additional jumpers on the back of the PCB to allow customization for those looking for extra deep compression.
