Golden Age Audio Project EQ-73 MKII | Equalizer

The EQ-73 MKII is a high-quality equalizer for professional sound applications.
With an IC-based input and output section and balanced connections, it enables independent operation and has new controls for level control.

The Class A circuit used in the EQ-73 MKII is similar to that of the familiar 1073 module, but without the high-pass filter.
Additional frequencies have been integrated and the mid-frequency range relies on two inductors.
The higher value of the second inductor is used at the two lowest frequencies (160 Hz and 240 Hz) in order to achieve a suitable response.

The frequency selection of the EQ-73 MKII enables precise adjustment in the range from 20 Hz to 24 kHz.
The low- and high-frequency bands are shelving, while the mid-frequency band has the typical bell character.
The control ranges are +/-15 dB for the two lower bands and +/- 18 dB for the high-frequency band.
The separate bypass circuit for all three bands makes it possible to quickly compare a single band.

The sound character of the EQ-73 MKII is warm, powerful and musical.
These classic characteristics have proven themselves on numerous recordings and offer a versatile sound that is suitable for a wide range of sound sources and genres.
It can be used in combination with PRE-73 models or other devices via an insert connection.
By combining a PRE-73 and an EQ-73 and using the UNITE rack kit for mounting, a cost-effective 19-inch 1073-like unit with outstanding sound is created.
