The GIK Acoustics 242 absorbers are perfect for intercepting first reflections and flutter echoes or reducing the reverberation time in a room.
They are ideal for recording studios, hi-fi rooms, home theaters, offices and various other rooms.
The 242 absorbers are manufactured with a stable frame to enable easy installation on walls and ceilings.
The rear frame creates a cavity that further improves the absorption capacity.

A SCATTER PLATE can be installed as an option.
Here, a wooden slat with mathematically calculated gaps ensures one-dimensional diffusion between 2.5 and 10 kHz.
This results in a balanced ratio between absorption and diffusion.
The tests were carried out in the large echo chamber at the University of Salford in Manchester.
The room was constructed with hard, non-parallel surfaces to create long reverberation times as in an empty room with even decay.
It has the shape of a truncated wedge.
In addition, 11 modules measuring 1.22m x 2.44m were suspended to maintain diffusivity in the sound field.
The test module was placed in the middle of the room on the floor.
The excitation signal consisted of random broadband signals and was played into the room through a loudspeaker system built into a cabinet that radiated into a corner of the room.
The whole thing was monitored at 5 different positions in the room using a measuring microphone.
The room measures 7.4m long x 6.6m wide x 4.5m high.
