The legend returns: The FAIRCHILD 670 is one of the most sought-after tube compressors in the world – and is now available from us in a faithful reconstruction that corresponds in every detail to the historical model that has been used to enhance countless hit recordings.

With its dual-channel design and unique sound characteristics, the FAIRCHILD 670 adds warmth, depth and character to any audio signal. The unique combination of tube amplification and level reduction ensures a natural and organic quality of the compressed signal.

The result: a rich and dynamic sound that has been delighting audio professionals for decades. From subtle and transparent compression to a powerful pumping sound full of energy: The FAIRCHILD 670 is the perfect tool for countless compression applications!

Unlike other replicas, the new FAIRCHILD 670 corresponds to the legendary original in every detail. Not only do the same tubes work inside, but also specially wound transformers manufactured to the original specifications.

Its true-to-original architecture, meticulous point-to-point wiring and classic turret board construction make this the only authentic replica of the FAIRCHILD 670 that recording legend Les Paul had Rein Narma develop in 1959.

The best prerequisites for modern producers and sound engineers to use this incomparable compressor sound in all its fullness for current productions – with the classic sound of the legendary original hardware!

  • Dual mono/stereo operation
  • Six selectable time constants
  • Threshold, compression and volume controls
  • VU level indicators
  • Hand-wired point-to-point layout
  • Customized transformers
  • Tube amplification

20 Tubes

  • 8x 6386
  • 2x 12AX7
  • 4x 6973
  • 2x 12BH7
  • 1x E80F
  • 1x 5651
  • 1x EL34
  • 1x GZ34

The 670 from Fairchild Recording Equipment LLC is identical to the original down to the smallest detail – with one exception: the transformers have been made larger to eliminate tube wear (for which the original is known). The sound is of course the same as the original.
