FabFilter One | Synthesizer Plug-In

FabFilter One is a virtual analog monosynth with a signal flow reduced to the essentials and a particularly detailed filter design. At its heart is a resonant low-pass filter with self-oscillating behavior, which offers a warm, analogue sound character thanks to careful tuning – even at maximum resonance without digital harshness or artifacts. The filter section is ideal for punchy leads, flat basses and aggressive synthlines.

The signal source is a completely alias-free oscillator developed in-house at FabFilter. It offers the classic saw, triangle and square waveforms as well as pulse width modulation. An integrated noise generator (white/pink) further expands the sound spectrum.

A synchronizable LFO with triangle and square waveforms as well as variable wave balance and a precisely tuned ADSR envelope are available for modulation. The latter offers an additional hold function, which optimizes the hold behaviour when notes are held down for a longer period of time. The modulation targets include the oscillator frequency, filter cutoff and pulse width.

The playing behavior of FabFilter One is well thought-out and musical: The glide function for portamento was specially designed to enable smooth transitions between notes without appearing static. Velocity tracking and filter key tracking ensure dynamic expressiveness.

FabFilter One supports up to 10-voice polyphony and provides over 100 presets for immediate use in various production contexts. Thanks to Smart Parameter Interpolation, all parameter changes are smooth and without audible artifacts. Parameters can be assigned via MIDI Learn and can be fully automated with sample accuracy.

The graphical user interface is compact and functional, with direct value display of all parameters. Extensive help files, tutorials and a well thought-out operating logic make FabFilter One an ideal synthesizer for beginners with high sound requirements or for sound designers looking for targeted interventions with maximum focus.
