FabFilter Micro | Mini Filter Plug-In

FabFilter Micro is a minimalist but sonically high-quality filter plug-in based on the proven filter design of FabFilter One. With just a single filter module, it delivers the characteristic analog sound signature of FabFilter – ideal for classic filter applications, but also for creative distortion effects. The filter can be operated as a lowpass or highpass and offers a gentle to aggressive resonance, which can also be self-oscillating if set accordingly.

Thanks to the integrated envelope follower, the cutoff frequency can be dynamically modulated. This allows reactive filter characteristics based on the input signal – a particularly useful feature for rhythmic sound design or lively automation. All settings can be made visually and intuitively via the large, interactive filter display – including specific control over resonance and response.

Another highlight of FabFilter Micro is the targeted control of the internal saturation. By controlling the input and output gain separately, the plug-in can be used not only as a precise filter, but also to generate analog saturation or harsh distortion – subtly or conspicuously, depending on the signal routing.

Despite its reduced range of functions, FabFilter Micro offers all the typical FabFilter features: Smart Parameter Interpolation ensures smooth parameter transitions without digital artifacts, MIDI Learn allows the assignment of external controllers, undo/redo and A/B comparison facilitate work in the production process. The complete automation of all parameters with sample accuracy and a compact, resource-saving architecture make FabFilter Micro a versatile tool for any setup.
