Black Lion Audio brings a breath of fresh air to the home recording sector with its Revolution 2×2 USB-C audio interface and delivers features that are otherwise not found at all in the mid-price segment – or only in larger converter systems. The company became famous at the time through modifications of digital-to-analog converters and audio interfaces, and hereby presents the first in-house USB interface, into whose development all this experience has flowed. Excellent components, a consequent decoupling of the analog part, the in-house, extremely precise Macro-MMCClock as well as an integrated PG-I current stabilization.
This sets standards in terms of sound integrity and absence of ambient noise far beyond the class of the interface. The two combo jacks can be used to connect and amplify both microphones and instruments (Hi-Z for electric guitars), while the rear panel offers a stereo monitor output in addition to SPDIF I/O.
Add to that a VU meter with digital display and a headphone output with high-fidelity amplifier, and all this is packed in a sturdy little case for home or travel.
But that’s not all: a software package consisting of Studio One Artist, the iZotope Elements Suite, and the Plugin Alliance brainworx bx_Digital and Lindell 6X500 plug-ins are available. And if there is no USB-C port on the computer, a USB-C to USB-A cable is conveniently included.

**Dynamic range is affected by our preference to tuning invidual stages for tonality. We found that the best sounding parts in the output path weren’t necessarily the lowest noise components but they resulted in an optimal tone and signal purity that is instantly apparent to the listener.
