Avantone Pro expands its monitoring portfolio upwards with the CLA-400 power amplifier. While the CLA-100 and CLA-200 power amplifiers were specifically designed for the in-house CLA-10 and other classic “white-cone” studio speakers, the powerhouse CLA-400 with an output power of up to 400 watts per channel is also suitable for large-format passive monitors. The consistently analog Class A/B circuit technology ensures a high-resolution sound image even at low monitoring levels, while the powerful power supply provides sufficient reserves even for bass-heavy sound at concert volume. Despite its high output power, the CLA-400 power amplifier does not require any disturbing fans and can therefore be installed directly in the control room without any problems.

That’s why Avantone Pro’s engineers built the CLA-400 power amplifier entirely from the best analog components. By dispensing with any analog-to-digital conversion, DSPs or switch-mode amplifier concepts, the CLA-400 offers a clean, well-drawn sound image at all levels. With fine transients and incorruptible spatiality, it allows the meticulous assessment of even the smallest details of a mix. Today, many suppliers rely on modern switching power supplies, which, in addition to low manufacturing costs, are characterized above all by their low weight. However, due to their clock frequency, they can have an unfavorable effect on the sound on the one hand and a negative impact on the power supply of other studio components on the other. The developers of Avantone Pro, on the other hand, have equipped their 400 model with an analog power supply that, thanks to the generously oversized toroidal transformer, guarantees a sovereign power delivery as well as a warm, fatigue-free sound image at all times.
