Multiband compression, divided into low, mid and side bands, gives you detailed control over every frequency range so you can shape your sound with precision.
The legendary Soft Clipper, derived from our alpha compressor, makes the signal louder without overdriving external AD converters.
The high-quality analog metering displays provide clear feedback on signal levels, compression and clipping for each band.

xmax is not only a powerful tool on the master bus. No matter which stereo bus you want to use xmax on, you always have full control over your dynamics. A focused and powerful bass range is easy to achieve with the low band. Powerful snare hits or assertive vocal tracks are no problem with the mid band. Do you want to expand the stereo field of the guitars or your room sound? – Simply turn the sideband gain control to get more stereo width. xmax uses advanced mid-side technology to split your incoming stereo signal into mid and side signals. The mid signal is further split into a low and mid band, allowing the use of three independent compressors in a single unit. After processing, the signal passes through a high-shelf filter for a powerful, analog high-frequency response, is then decoded into a stereo signal and subsequently boosted to the desired level using the soft clipper and an output control without overdriving external AD converters. xmax delivers exceptional clarity, punch and versatility in any application.

- If the appliance is moved from a cold to a warm place, condensation may form inside. Only switch the appliance on when it has warmed up to room temperature.
